Penn State announced that Menah Pratt will become regional chancellor for its Hazleton, Scranton and Wilkes-Barre campuses effective Aug. 1. Pratt (a seasoned higher education leader) will guide local campuses through transition as the Wilkes-Barre site prepares for closure.
The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission approved a settlement that will raise average PPL residential bills by nearly 5%. It also pauses rate cases for two years and enhances customer programs, including waived reconnection fees for qualifying low-income customers (earning up to 150% of poverty level) starting July 1.
