Thousands of rail fans will visit Scranton for the Union Pacific Big Boy No. 4014 display on Monday and Tuesday at Steamtown National Historic Site. COLTS and Luzerne County Transportation Authority will offer free shuttle routes and expanded bus service (starting at 7 a.m. from designated parking areas including PNC Field, Montage Mountain, and downtown stops).
Developers restored the former Scranton Lace Company property into Lace Village on 11 acres in 2006 and now offer townhomes, apartments, a café, and community gardens while preserving historic materials and archives to honor local history—expansions to retail and public spaces are expected soon.
