COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Greater Scranton YMCA began its Winter Clothing Drive on Tuesday, January 6 in Dunmore (North Blakely Street) after a surge in community donations and will be open through Tuesday, January 14. The drive offers free, new or gently used clothing for all ages during regular business hours.  FOX 56
  • Residents in Archbald voiced concerns over proposed Project Gravity, a plan to build seven data centers on a 180+ acre site during the permitting process. The DEP reviews permits for wetlands while community members have 20 days to submit comments (on potential impacts on utilities and water use).  WNEP
  • The Scranton Times Building was donated by the Lynett-Haggerty family to Charitable Solutions LLC and will host Rock 107 and other radio stations for five years as plans for a mixed-use space develop.
