- ➤ This afternoon, The Trouble with Cali was shown at Albright Memorial Library in downtown Scranton. The film, made with county funds and directed by the late actor Paul Sorvino in the late 2000s, sets the stage for a documentary — expected later this year that will explain its troubled production. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ On Saturday, the All Saints Academy PTO hosted a winter wellness day in Scranton where kids learned CPR and health skills while enjoying meditation, snacks & smoothies, coffee and gift baskets. Proceeds supported student programs. WNEP
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Utility crews working on Main Street near Lehigh Valley Hospital have reduced the 300 block to one lane, and police say drivers should plan ahead with alternate routes (no completion timeline has been given) to avoid delays. FOX 56
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Rep Bresnahan said local nonprofits ended a 90-day funding support for Scranton hospitals last August, which nearly forced closure, but CHS agreed to extend operations for two more months while Tenor Health Foundation’s purchase awaits state approval. WVIA
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Around 360 runners and walkers took part in the Shiver by the River race along West Olive Street this morning, raising funds for Nay Aug Zoo to help street cats and dogs (supporting a local cause). The event offered a challenging winter run and encouraged active lifestyles. WNEP
