- ➤ Retired coach Mark Duda, diagnosed with Parkinson’s, will appear on WVIA-TV’s Keystone Edition airing Monday at 7 p.m. The program highlights his 32 years at Lackawanna College and his belief that every player deserves a chance. WVIA
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Flames burned through an apartment building on McAlpine Street in Avoca just before 10 a.m. Saturday, as five residents escaped safely while an unknown number of pets were lost, and fire crews from Avoca, Laflin, and Duryea are investigating the cause (state police fire marshal). WNEP
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Scranton’s Downtown on Ice festival returned with ice sculptures, a scavenger hunt, miniature curling, carriage rides and stilt performers, and the event continues tomorrow to draw visitors to local shops and restaurants. FOX 56

- ➤ More than 30 locals paddled nearly three miles from Parker Street landing to Sweeney's Beach at Shiverfest on Saturday to support the non-profit efforts of the Lackawanna River Conservation Association, with participants enjoying a warm drink at the after-party. WNEP
