ECONOMY NEWS

  • Developers from Cornell Realty Management and LaBella Associates seek a permit for the proposed Wildcat Ridge Data Center Campus in Archbald — a 500-acre project featuring 14 two-story buildings and plans to treat mine water — as council continues reviewing its zoning fit.  WVIA

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Graduates of Luzerne County Community College can now enroll at Misericordia University with core curriculum requirements waived, officials said after signing an agreement Thursday morning (Accelerate Your Degree) that lowers cost and shortens the path to a four-year degree.  WVIA

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Scranton crews are still clearing snow-covered roads after Sunday’s storm while DPW teams work to restore safe travel and regular transit services. City officials took feedback at Tuesday’s council meeting + adjustments are underway for challenging narrow streets.  FOX 56
  • Emergency repairs began Thursday at 6 p.m. along Business Route 6 in Dickson City & Blakely after a water main break, and crews expect to finish work today by 4 a.m. as residents may notice cloudy water or low pressure.  WNEP

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Pa. Health Department approved nonprofit Tenor Health Foundation's acquisition of Moses Taylor + Regional Hospital in Scranton and Wilkes-Barre General Hospital from Commonwealth Health on Jan. 29. The move is expected to bring expanded community health services to our area.  WVIA
