- ➤ Mountain View Garden Club is planning a series of spring events for local gardeners, with a full program to be posted online in March. The club will host its annual Plant Sale and Exchange on Sunday, June 7, and meets every third Tuesday from March through November. The Abington Journal
- ➤ Saint Francis of Assisi Kitchen has launched its 48th annual Host-for-a-Day campaign to support food and clothing programs for community members in need. Donations starting at $100 help fund daily meals and services, and a reception will be held at Fiorelli’s in Peckville on April 29. The Abington Journal
- ➤ A $3,472.70 grant awarded by the Scranton Area Community Foundation helped Abington Community Library repair its HVAC unit that failed during busy summer programming - the funds came through the 2025 Critical Needs Grant Cycle. The Abington Journal
- ➤ The Dalton Community Library is inviting residents to explore best-selling books and media while taking part in the LCL winter challenge, Reading Starts a Revolution, running Feb. 2-28. - ➤ The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce’s Skills in Scranton announced Ryan Leckey and Kimberlee Greenleaf as keynote speakers for the Workforce Summit on Thursday, March 19 at Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel, where the event runs from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will connect local employers, educators, and job seekers.
