EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Keystone College had its accreditation reaffirmed by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education because it meets key standards (Ethics and Integrity; Planning, Resources and Institutional Improvement; Governance, Leadership and Administration), canceling its mid-March meeting while requiring a monitoring report this fall. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ NextGen Counseling opened in Dickson City on October 1 to offer teens help with addiction, gaming, and mental health challenges. The outpatient center provides both in-person and virtual sessions (tailored to each teen's comfort level) to support early intervention and recovery. FOX 56
- ➤ The Scranton High baseball team is rallying around sophomore Kayden Davis, who underwent surgery on Monday after doctors discovered two brain tumors, with community members launching a GoFundMe that has raised over $16,000 to ease his treatment costs. FOX 56

- ➤ Abington Heights beat Crestwood 57-37 in the D2 Class 5A championship at Mohegan Arena on Friday night (the team used its size to secure its fourth consecutive win). Both teams will play in the PIAA state playoffs on Friday, March 6. The Abington Journal
- ➤ Scranton Prep won its fourth straight District 2 title after beating Valley View 52-47 in Thursday's Class 4A championship game at Mohegan Arena at Casey Plaza. Star player Chloe Mamera scored 21 points to help secure the win for the Classics. The Abington Journal
