- ➤ Scranton's own Big Jim 'Chimsey' Williams, known as Scranton Superman, built a legacy of record-breaking lifts and community support in local gyms and churches. His achievements (captured in trophies, photos, and writings) continue to inspire residents nearly 20 years after his passing. WNEP
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Keystone College received confirmation that its accreditation was reaffirmed by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education in a statement from Feb. 27. The decision eliminated the planned mid-March review (the college will submit a follow-up report this fall) and marks a milestone for the campus community. FOX 56

- ➤ At the District 2 Class 3A Swimming Championships held Friday at the Wyoming Valley CYC, Hazleton Area’s Lia Ochs won two gold medals in the 200 Medley Relay and 200 Free as teams from Tunkhannock, Abington Heights, and Wyoming Valley West also earned victories. The Abington Journal
- ➤ At the District 2 Class 2A Swimming Championships held Friday at Wyoming Valley CYC, Tunkhannock boys broke a 200 Free relay record with a time of 1:27.56 + built a 73-point lead while Dallas girls led the team standings. - ➤ At the District 2 Class 3A Swimming Championships at the Wyoming Valley CYC in Wilkes-Barre on Saturday, Hazleton Area's Lia Ochs won the 500 Free with a 22-second lead while Tunkhannock’s Kaitlyn Keown earned gold in the 100 Back, with teams from Williamsport and Abington Heights finishing as champions.
