- ➤ Clarks Summit Goes Pink is staging a 5K/1 Mile Walk and block party on Saturday, Aug. 15, starting behind the borough building on Depot Street. Race participants will enjoy food + drink specials and live music from Kristen and the Noise as proceeds support local breast cancer efforts. The Abington Journal

- ➤ Max Loiacono, a Clarks Summit photographer and Abington Heights grad, exhibited his railroad images at the Bellefonte Art Museum’s Pennsylvania Industrial History gallery. He plans to expand his work for regional history—exploring European sites for Cold War relics. The Abington Journal
- ➤ Lackawanna Trail Drama Club will perform the musical 'Annie' in NYC starting Friday, March 27 at 7 p.m.; additional showings are set for Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. The production, set during the Great Depression (with classic songs like 'Tomorrow'), showcases local talent. - ➤ At Abington Community Library in Clarks Summit, a final Girl Scout Starter Troop meeting was held on Sunday for Daisies and Brownies to introduce local girls to scouting skills. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ NextGen Counseling (state-licensed in Oct. 2025) now offers addiction and mental health counseling for youth 12 to 19 on Dickson City’s Main Street, with teens 14 and over able to consent to treatment. - ➤ Ron Parasole Jr plans to build a 25-unit, 36,000 sqft apartment building on Center St. in Clarks Summit using the former United Cerebral Palsy site, featuring private balconies, an elevator, and community amenities (dog park, rooftop deck) with construction set to begin soon. - ➤ At the District 2-4 Class 3A Girls Swimming and Diving Championships in February, Abington Heights won the district title with 261 points after sophomore Hadley Pallman earned four gold medals, including the 100-yard butterfly.
