- ➤ On Sunday, families visited Valley Community Library in Blakely to take $15 portraits for Mother's Day and Easter—this spring fundraiser helped raise vital funds for extra library programs—organizers said it was one of many events planned to support local services. WNEP
- ➤ On Sunday morning, the Circle Drive-In Flea Fair opened its 2025 season where new and familiar vendors sold antiques, household items and Pokemon cards. The event, a local tradition since 1975 (when manager CJ Langan was five years old), will run every Sunday from 6am to 2pm (weather permitting). FOX 56

- ➤ Early Sunday morning a fire on Laurel Hill Road in Newton Township destroyed a large home and started a brush fire—high winds made it hard for firefighters from Lackawanna, Wyoming, and Luzerne counties to control the blaze. WNEP

- ➤ The 7th NEPA Reptile Expo returns to Scranton at the Hilton Inn and Conference Center, where hundreds of reptiles, bugs and other animals are on display alongside vendors selling photography and supplies—attendees can plan for future shows on July 6th and November 16th. FOX 56
- ➤ Temple Hesed in Scranton held a Purim celebration that retold the story of Esther with a pop culture twist — using modern songs and fun roles to share the ancient tale. The event started Thursday at sundown and lasted about 24 hours, featuring live skits and traditional readings. WVIA
