  • Scranton firefighter Lt. Kelly (Hoppy) Hopkins died yesterday at 63 after battling stage 4 esophageal cancer; his colleagues remembered his nearly forty years of service and mentorship.  FOX 56

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • The Greater Scranton Black Diamonds Pipe Band—members returning from a Saint Patrick's Day parade in Milford—was on a school bus that crashed Sunday night in Lackawanna County, sending 16 people to the hospital. The band cancelled its remaining festivities while state police investigated the incident in Jefferson Twp.  WNEP
  • On Sunday, a school bus in Jefferson Township veered off the road near the Sunoco gas station on Mount Cobb Rd and collided with a parked semi-truck, involving 21 people with 16 taken to hospitals at about 6:15 p.m. — the volunteer Fire Chief said.  FOX 56
