- ➤ ShopRite of Birney Plaza in Moosic was recognized today for raising over $1.3 million through its annual Partners in Caring Cheerios Contest to fight food insecurity; top associates earned a commemorative cheerios box and a $2,500 bonus for local charities (Friends of the Poor and the Catherine McAuley Center). - ➤ Maple syrup producers host a two-day self-guided tour in the Endless Mountains starting Saturday, where families can visit sugar shacks to watch the sap boil, sample free treats, and learn about the region's sugaring process. WVIA
- ➤ The Lackawanna County Bookmobile visited the Greater Scranton YMCA in Dunmore on Wednesday, offering free WiFi, book loans and library card signups to local families. It will return on April 15 and May 13. FOX 56

- ➤ QTS, a Kansas based data center developer, purchased 1,700 acres in Salem Township through Salem Township Holdings LLC for over $500 million and said it will build a campus near Talen Energy’s power plant and land bought by Amazon. Project details remain preliminary. WNEP

- ➤ Gas prices in Pennsylvania rose on Wednesday, March 18 — reaching about $3.76 per gallon on average — marking the 20th straight day of increases statewide, while local stations near Scranton reported prices as low as $3.38 per gallon. FOX 56

- ➤ Johnson College students attended a bi-annual job fair on Wednesday at the Jefferson College Moffat Student Center where 89 employers set up booths to offer jobs+internships. The college will host another career fair in the fall for students and alumni. FOX 56

- ➤ Two standout girls from Lackawanna County are set for the NCAA tournament as Cierra Toomey represents the Tar Heels and Rachael Rose, a Scranton Prep alum, leads the 9-seed Clemson Tigers; coaches praise their talent (and grit) as they chase a national title. WNEP
- ➤ The undefeated University of Scranton women’s basketball team faces New York University today (7:30 p.m.) in Salem, VA for the Division III Final Four. A win will send the team to Saturday’s national championship game. WVIA
