GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ In Hazle Township, residents and officials debated plans for a pharmaceutical distribution center that would store hazardous materials (raising concerns about traffic and water) as Geisinger leads the project. The zoning hearing has been rescheduled for May 18 at 5 p.m. FOX 56
- ➤ Drivers should expect delays along I-380 northbound between Exit 124 in Gouldsboro and Exit 190 in Daleville today through Thursday — PennDOT will conduct bridge work daily from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., urging motorists to allow extra travel time. FOX 56
- ➤ Scranton City Council has announced plans to ban kratom sales and possession today following concerns over rising addiction risks. Councilman Patrick Flynn and District Attorney Brian Gallagher will introduce ordinances treating violations as summary offenses — fines and short jail terms apply to help protect the community. WVIA
