- ➤ Factoryville Fire Company has recovered its historic Ward Le France pumper truck that was built in the 1930s and taken out of service in 1971—the vehicle was found on Craigslist and repurchased to honor its firefighting legacy. WNEP

- ➤ WNEP broadcast professionals Jeremy Lewan and James Pennington received the prestigious PAB Award for Outstanding Television Feature Report for their coverage of Wally Lake Fest on Lake Wallenpaupack last summer during Friday’s Excellence in Broadcasting Awards Luncheon held at the Sheraton Hotel in Harrisburg. - ➤ Visitors explored Mine Rescue Day at the Anthracite Heritage Museum on Saturday (checking out rare rescue equipment, artifacts, and historic films) as part of regular museum admission. WNEP
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Scranton School District is expanding services for students with autism by renovating the former Friendship House into the Jim Connors Learning Center at Monticello East and adding support classrooms in fall. Superintendent Erin Keating said the effort will meet the growing needs of special education students. WVIA
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Saturday, EPCAMR and partner organizations met at Luzerne County Community College in Nanticoke (Luzerne Co.) for the Illegal Dumping Forum, where they reviewed cleanup efforts and planned future actions to restore local waterways and abandoned mine sites. FOX 56
