- ➤ Kenneth Tapia, an 18-year-old who pleaded guilty to murder and gun charges on Tuesday at Lackawanna County Court, was sentenced to 20 to 42 years in prison for killing Robert Dawson—a 32-year-old father of five shot near Weston Field on April 9 last year. WNEP
- ➤ Scranton police arrested Khalid Jamiar Jones, 31, after shots were fired outside the Solstice Bar on March 3 at 2 a.m.—a home search uncovered ghost guns and he now faces assault, reckless endangerment, and additional firearms charges. FOX 56

- ➤ Saint Paul's Parish in Scranton held a Living Stations of the Cross performance today with its 7th grade students re-enacting key New Testament figures in a faithful portrayal of Jesus' final days from the Passion—another performance is scheduled for Wednesday. FOX 56
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Scranton’s $12,000,000 flood prevention project is stalled because only 3 of 47 Green Ridge property owners have signed the required easement agreements—forcing officials to wait for full approval before starting repairs on the aging Meadow Brook waterway. Council President Gerald Smurl warned that without complete consent the two-year project may be delayed further—raising risks of additional property damage. PA Homepage
- ➤ PennDOT District 4 will start 52 new projects—including a North Main Avenue bridge replacement in Scranton—that add over $300 million in new work to a schedule that already includes more than $900 million in ongoing improvements this year.
