- ➤ Volunteers from Scranton Tomorrow's Safe, Clean, Green and Design team partnered with the UNICO Scranton Chapter to plant hardy dianthus in the downtown business district on Saturday—marking the first spring beautification effort ahead of Earth Day. - ➤ St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, an over 150-year-old building known for its Tiffany windows and original pews, joined the National Register of Historic Places on (April 16th) after five years of work by its leaders. The move gives the church federal honor and shows its long role in our community. WVIA

- ➤ The Indraloka Animal Sanctuary held an early Earth Day celebration with a guided tour by Sarah Thornton and activities where children learned about planting seeds and seeing rescued animals—organizers believe the event will inspire care for nature. FOX 56

Andrews Center and proposed a $5M boost in personalized job services for people with disabilities. Rep. Dan Meuser introduced a bill to remove DOE review from LNG export approvals while several senators asked Social Security to grant full retroactive spousal benefits under the Social Security Fairness Act—efforts aimed at strengthening employment and benefits programs.
