- ➤ African Sisters Education Collaborative hosted its fourth Night of Storytelling event on Wednesday at Marywood University (Fireplace Lounge), inviting community members to hear personal accounts of the sisters' work in Africa as part of a fundraising effort. FOX 56
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Wren Kitchens closed its U.S. showrooms, including the Wilkes-Barre Twp Commons location that opened in July 2022, according to a company message online. The closure ends the local retail expansion - questions remain about potential staff impacts as inquiries remain unanswered. FOX 56
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport approved almost $13.6M in contracts to add 10,000 sqft to the terminal and enhance the TSA checkpoint (with a new waiting lounge) and will start construction in September for a 16-month project. County Commissioner Chris Chermak hinted he might apply as the airport's next executive director. WVIA
- ➤ A PennDOT project to rehab the West Linden Street bridge will begin Monday, Apr. 27, detouring eastbound drivers through North 7th Avenue (with left turns onto West Lackawanna and Franklin Avenues) until the route reconnects, and drivers should allow extra travel time. FOX 56

- ➤ Dalton Run Club held a wear-orange group run and walk Wednesday evening at Streamside Park to mark National Infertility Awareness Week, and the event invited donations to RESOLVE a nonprofit that supports infertility education and advocacy. FOX 56
