  • Union Pacific No. 4014 (Big Boy) will visit Steamtown National Historic Site in June as part of its coast-to-coast tour celebrating America’s 250th anniversary; officials expect tens of thousands of visitors to enjoy the historic locomotive.  WVIA
  • EMPOWER: The Leadership Experience conference brought over 700 attendees together today at Kalahari Resorts & Convention Center as Geisinger hosted talks, a teen session, wellness displays, and vendor showcases focused on women’s leadership. The 2027 speaker portal opens tomorrow.  FOX 56
  • Tickets remain available for the free America250 concert in Wilkes-Barre on June 20 featuring Lady A, En Vogue, and Carson Kressley — while the Hershey show on June 13 will add Joan Jett and The Blackhearts, The Avett Brothers, and Chloe Flower. Fans must register early.  FOX 56

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Shapiro administration has announced $267 million for 31 RISE PA projects aimed at cutting emissions and lowering energy costs for businesses in northeastern Pennsylvania. Officials say the funding will also support manufacturing jobs and bolster local industry.  FOX 56

HEALTH NEWS

  • Scranton Mayor Paige Cognetti and Representative Kosierowski warned that proposed federal Medicaid cuts could soon force local hospitals to limit services and strain emergency rooms. They said reduced funding will add pressure to an already tight healthcare system.  FOX 56
