- ➤ May’s fourth annual Boo Bash Trunk or Treat was held indoors in Scranton due to rain, where over 50 kids enjoyed games, snacks, and trick-or-treat bags while reusing or donating costumes. Proceeds raised through raffle baskets and donations supported 9-year-old Evelyn—recently diagnosed with lymphoma—to help cover her medical expenses. FOX 56
- ➤ College students at the University of Scranton hosted the second annual Go Baby Go event on Sunday, unveiling custom-made cars with special controls for nine local children with mobility challenges in Lackawanna County — the project was funded by the Edward R. - ➤ On Sunday, Plains Township hosted the sixth annual Rick’s Fun Run at Birchwood Pavilion to raise funds for 71-year-old Charlie Lepore— a lifelong resident battling stage four non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. - ➤ Scranton Police arrested 33-year-old Anderson Cortez after he allegedly broke into a home on the 300 block of Beech Street on April 27 and an unoccupied building on the 400 block of Koch Street on May 2—he was caught following a foot pursuit and now faces burglary, criminal trespass and related charges with a preliminary hearing set later this month.
