ECONOMY NEWS

  • In Scranton, drivers face higher fuel prices as regular gas now averages $4.64—up from $4.15 last week—with some stations below $5.00; officials say releasing 400 million barrels from reserves and other measures will ease the surge amid rising summer travel demand.  FOX 56

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • PennDOT and state police held a joint press conference in Dunmore Wednesday afternoon to warn drivers that littering on roads is subject to fines and court-ordered cleanup. The agencies said increased efforts are underway and they are seeking volunteers for the Adopt-A-Highway program.  WNEP

HEALTH NEWS

  • After Tenor Health Foundation bought Wilkes-Barre General, Regional Hospital and Moses Taylor Hospital in February and kept their Commonwealth Health name, hospital leaders are optimistic about improved care and staff stability three months later.  WVIA
