Scranton held an Armed Forces Day parade that started at the Gino Merley Center and moved to the courthouse square—where people cheered active soldiers, sailors, and airmen while local musicians played.

Chief Warrant Officer 4 Danny Stella said the event, which returned after a COVID-19 break, honors service members and their families.

Warrior Strong hosted a free outdoor yoga session along Adams Avenue in Lackawanna County on Saturday to honor Armed Forces Day and help veterans overcome loneliness—Program Director Christopher Smith said the session used physical fitness to reconnect veterans with the community before the parade.

Exaltation of the Holy Cross Parish held its annual drive-thru Potato Pancake Fest at its parking lot in Hanover Township—volunteers used homemade batter to fry thousands of pancakes for hundreds of cars.

The event started during COVID and will continue tomorrow until 5 p.m. to benefit the Men’s Club, food distributions, and church needs.

Marywood University held its 107th commencement ceremony today, where graduates from 23 states and six countries marked the end of their undergraduate careers.
