Over the past 10 months, Leadership Lackawanna and the Scranton Counseling Center transformed two unused rooms into peaceful meditation spaces with soft lighting, comfortable furniture, and mindfulness tools for both adults and teens.

The new spaces were officially unveiled with a ribbon-cutting during Mental Health Awareness Month.

At the District 2 Championships on May 12 and 13 at Memorial Stadium, the Abington Heights girls track and field team advanced four athletes to the state meet after losing to Dallas’ Lady Mountaineers by a score of 129 to 87 1/3 — the team’s relay win sent them to Shippensburg as the 16th seed in the 28-team relay field.
