  • Despite rainy weather, the 33rd Annual Jessup Hose Co. 2 Carnival is open today in Jessup, offering rides, games, fair food and live shows starting at 6 p.m. Co-chairman Timothy O’Neill said the funds cover 40% of the department's bills—vital for buying a new fire truck—and urged locals to support the event.  WNEP

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Lackawanna County and Commissioner Bill Gaughan filed an appeal Friday with the state Commonwealth Court against a ruling that upheld the county’s process for replacing Commissioner Matt McGloin after his resignation, a challenge that could delay appointing a replacement for several weeks—officials have not yet detailed their reasons for the appeal.  WVIA
