- ➤ Hundreds gathered in Jessup today for the Race of the Saints, an annual event celebrating Italian heritage despite rainy weather. Participants carry wooden platforms with saints while residents join a cherished tradition rooted in Gubbio (Italy). FOX 56
- ➤ The Saint Ubaldo Day festival drew thousands over Memorial Day weekend in Jessup despite rainy weather. Three teams ran through narrow streets carrying 500-lb statues to represent different saints, part of a unique race celebrated only in Jessup and Gubbio (Italy). WNEP

- ➤ Mid Valley High School senior Anthony Betti was honored by Lackawanna County commissioners on Saturday, May 23 after being named one of 25 statewide winners for the America250 scholarship program—he received a $10,000 award paired with a matching grant from Penn State University. FOX 56
