- ➤ The Montour County Coroner identified the body of 42-year-old Katrina Marie Seguine from Scranton found in the Susquehanna River on June 1—authorities now ask the public for help with details of her last known activities as investigators have not determined how long she was in the water. - ➤ Abington Heights added a girls wrestling program for both varsity and junior high levels after the school board approved the change at its May 21 meeting — the new program will let more students join wrestling competitions. The Abington Journal

- ➤ The Abington Heights Lady Comets ended their track season in May by winning the Spagna Championships at Memorial Stadium and finishing second in District 2, where seven athletes qualified for the state meet. Coach Frank Passetti said the team focused on events with the best chance to qualify—record marks by Maggie Coleman and Tomara Seid boosted hopes for state competition. The Abington Journal
- ➤ Lackawanna Trail’s Avery Ronchi placed 14th in the 3200-meter run at the state meet on May 24 — he also ran the 1600-meter, finishing 32nd among his peers. Abington Heights won the Robert Spagna Track Conference title when D.J. Rogers captured the 200-meter dash and helped his team secure key relay wins on May 7 — a strong showing that led the Comets to victory. The Abington Journal
- ➤ Nick Bradley—an Abington Heights junior pitcher—was named Gatorade Pennsylvania Baseball Player of the Year by a June 3 morning press release for his strong performance leading into the District 2 semifinals.
