- ➤ On Thursday, Variety the Children's Charity gifted adaptive bikes and strollers to kids with disabilities at the Scranton School for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children—sponsored by the All One Foundation and Blackburn's—while families watched as children tested their new gear. WNEP
- ➤ This weekend, the Edwardsville Pierogi Festival starts today at John Hopkins Memorial Park with food vendors and live entertainment, and the NEPA Yoga Festival offers wellness activities at Montage Mountain Resorts from today through Sunday. - ➤ Angela Saar, a former fiscal manager from Olyphant, was sentenced to a year and a day in federal prison for illegally wiring over $411,000 from the Children’s Advocacy Center of Northeastern Pennsylvania and must repay $411,940.21—she is set to report for prison on June 20 by 2 p.m. WVIA

- ➤ Today, Scranton hosts a four-day music festival called the Road to Warped Tour downtown with bands headed to Washington D.C. Warped Tour and local acts, as explained by the Ritz Theater owner. Local businesses are changing practices and offering special services—like flash tattoos at Thirteenth Realm Tattoo Studios—to welcome festivalgoers as the event runs through Sunday. WNEP

- ➤ A Lackawanna County judge ruled that the property at 421 Campbell Street is a public nuisance under Pennsylvania law—ordering all Cane Corso dogs be removed immediately after a May 27th hearing where neighbors and city officials raised concerns about too many large dogs. John Dodge, who runs Superior Cane Corso Kennel, did not appear in court and has disputed the ruling in a statement. FOX 56
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Rising Tide Wellness, a healthcare nonprofit, will host a wellness fair in Scranton at the Lackawanna County Courthouse Courtyard on June 26 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.—more than 25 organizations will offer free medical consultations, mental health counseling, addiction recovery support, emergency housing assistance, screenings, vaccinations, food and music. The event follows a similar fair in Wilkes-Barre that served over 250 people in April. WVIA
