Today, the Connell Park pool in Scranton reopened after last summer's closure following $1.1 million in renovations funded by the American Rescue Plan Act.

A ribbon cutting celebrated the historic pool that has served the community since the 1970s, and it will be open daily from noon to 6 p.m. until Labor Day.

Robert Collado from WVIA reported on the final Mass held last Sunday at Nativity-of-Our-Lord Church in South Scranton, where decades of service ended as members expressed deep emotion and now plan to meet at St.-Teresa of Calcutta for worship.

Pennsylvania’s Health Secretary Debra Bogen criticized proposed Medicaid cuts during a press event on June 13, and Nativity of Our Lord Church in South Scranton closed after its final mass on June 8.
