CRIME NEWS

  • A Dalton man (36) is charged after he allegedly fatally shot coworker Jeff Moeller at Lowe's on Viewmont Drive early Saturday; he reportedly called 911 to report the shooting, said he bought a handgun to shoot Moeller after months of harassment, and was detained at 12:36 a.m.  WVIA

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Hundreds gathered in Courthouse Square in Scranton on June 15th to protest what they see as threats to democracy and cuts to programs for vulnerable populations—demanding government action to check excessive presidential power. Protestors held signs and chanted as they called for protection of social services and a return to foundational democratic values.  PA Homepage
  • Protestors gathered at Courthouse Square in downtown Scranton on Sunday to oppose ICE raids and accused the agency of targeting both legal residents and undocumented immigrants—drawing comparisons to Nazi tactics.
