  • Electric City-based barbers at City Touch Barbershop gave free haircuts to over 30 kids this morning in Scranton. The shop stayed open past its normal 7:00 p.m. closing as Buona Pizza donated pizza and Hoop Heroes provided snacks and drinks.  PA Homepage
  • Over 300 PPL customers are without power in Scranton’s Hill Section and parts of Dunmore due to weather-related issues — crews plan to restore service by 7:30 p.m.  WNEP

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Manning’s Dairy Farm in Lackawanna County is using fans and water misters to cool its cows during a summer heatwave—farmers say the measures help manage lower milk output as demand for ice cream rises. The fifth-generation farm usually collects 60 to 62 pounds per cow each day and plans to keep supplying five local stores despite the heat stress.  FOX 56

  • Rep. Rob Bresnahan defended his vote for a federal spending bill that passed on May 22 and critics say will cut Medicaid benefits for millions. He said the bill—by adding work requirements and exceptions—protects coverage for low-income families in his district.  WVIA
