  • The Restored Church of Wilkes-Barre/Scranton hosted a block party at Coal Street Park that offered health services, kids activities and a food giveaway. The church partnered with local groups— including the Wilkes-Barre Health Department—to provide blood pressure checks, vaccination updates and care to families.  FOX 56

CRIME NEWS

  • Scranton police captured 24-year-old Eddie Brent on Saturday—he had been wanted for several days for allegedly assaulting an officer and was seen fleeing in a stolen vehicle on North Keyser Avenue before a pursuit ended at a gas station.  FOX 56

CULTURE NEWS

  • Scranton residents gathered today at the Hola Scranton Hispanic Festival at a local park to enjoy authentic Hispanic food, outdoor games and a bounce house. Local groups such as First Haitian Metanoia Baptist Church — part of the SERVE tour — and Golden Care NEPA offered community support and shared resources.  FOX 56
