- ➤ ICE arrested Nasario Damian Contreras, a 45-year-old co-owner of three local restaurants, outside Isabella’s Eatery in Jefferson Twp. last Tuesday at 10:20 a.m.—he is now held at Pike County Correctional Facility while his family works with a new lawyer to address his immigration status amid strong community support. - ➤ Today at St. Ann’s Basilica on St. Ann Street in West Scranton, worshippers gather for the 101st Solemn Novena to St. Ann — receiving car blessings from Rev. Michael Rowe — as they pray and light candles. This nine-day event ends on July 26 — a local tradition for over 100 years — and continues to draw many faithful residents. WVIA
