Good morning, Scranton. Here's your local news at a glance for Thursday, the 14th of August.

ACCIDENTS NEWS

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Farmers in Pennsylvania have faced labor shortages as federal immigration rules lost workers at meat packing plants, causing worries about delays in food processing. Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding and Congressman Glenn Thompson said the industry will struggle if changes do not come soon — the challenge has troubled farms through five administrations.  FOX 56

FINANCE NEWS

  • A local lottery player in Tunkhannock won $100,000 on August 11 when a Powerball ticket sold at Davan’s Delite matched four white balls and the red Powerball — the store earned a $500 bonus from the sale. The jackpot had rolled to an estimated annuity value of $526 million for the drawing on August 13.  WNEP
