- ➤ State Senator Marty Flynn is proposing an amendment to Senate Bill 939—designed to let local governments decide if a data center is built—after constituents raised concerns over a bill that would limit municipal control. Although no proposed data centers are in his district, the bill, which speeds up state permitting and sets time limits while creating a new regulatory office, has not yet come to committee and is expected to change before a vote.
