- ➤ Tom Hesser Nissan in Dunmore held its first trunk or treat event Saturday afternoon — over 200 kids gathered to get candy, jump in a bouncy house, and take part in a costume contest with a prize of a Nintendo Switch 2. Managers said the event was a success and plan to make it a yearly tradition. FOX 56
- ➤ Runners and walkers, some in costume, participated in the Wyoming Valley Habitat for Humanity Halloween 5K on Saturday from the Friedman Jewish Community Center—raising funds to help local families find affordable homes. The non-profit has connected 19 first-time home buyers with houses and will build six more houses for Pittston and Wilkes-Barre. PA Homepage
- ➤ Residents in Scranton visited Lace Village’s second Fall Food and Wine Festival on Saturday at a former manufacturing plant where local vendors offered food, wine and drinks. A craft brewery claimed to be the first in town, and vendors said the crowd was larger this year than when the festival began—adding excitement to the community event. PA Homepage

- ➤ Over 1500 demonstrators gathered at the Lackawanna County Courthouse square Saturday to voice their concerns—county Commissioner Bill Gaughan and other speakers bolstered discussions as protestors in costumes and counter-protestors engaged in mostly peaceful exchanges. FOX 56
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Hundreds gathered at PNC Field in Moosic on Saturday morning for the 2025 Walk to End Alzheimer's—raising awareness and funds for a cure. Local advocates, including Miss Pennsylvania Victoria Vespico, joined community members as the event raised thousands to support research. WNEP
- ➤ Community members in Scranton rallied on Saturday outside the Thirsty Elephant on Wyoming Avenue to raise funds for Kimberly Rullo, who is on dialysis and waiting for a kidney transplant — the event featured music, a DJ, a live band and a friendly cornhole competition. WNEP
