- ➤ On Monday afternoon, ten new Court Appointed Special Advocates were sworn in by Judge Jennifer Rogers after finishing 30 hours of training over nine weeks to help abused foster children in Luzerne and Wyoming counties—nearly 330 children are waiting for the support they offer. - ➤ The 80th annual Wyoming Valley Veterans Day Parade began at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9 at Market Street and Rutter Avenue in Kingston and marched to Wilkes-Barre despite rainy weather. Veterans, local officials, first responders, and representatives from every military branch joined the route while no active duty military marched due to the government shutdown — some volunteers participated on their own time.
