- ➤ Hunters in Susquehanna County began the season by processing deer and donating meat to food banks and the Scranton Veterans Affairs office—Jeff Scavazzo said his shop expects more hunters later to bring additional donations. The contributions will help local families and veterans receive needed meals. WNEP
- ➤ Luzerne township rewired its main street lights after a six-month fundraising that raised $30,000. The town celebrated today with caroling, Santa riding a firetruck, and police therapy dog Mack visiting locals. FOX 56
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Train lovers are invited to visit the Hudson Model Railroad Club open house in Plains where they can explore classic model trains and detailed displays. Founded in 1980, the club brings holiday memories to life with ongoing projects that evoke the simple joy of childhood train sets. FOX 56
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Rep. Kyle Mullins helped secure $5 million in state funds for research on neurodegenerative diseases such as ALS, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s as part of the state budget signed by Gov. Josh Shapiro. He was driven by personal loss — his father died from ALS in 2022 — and worked with lawmakers from both sides to add the funding. WVIA
