- ➤ NEPA's Middleswarth chip-eating champion set a new record at Sabatini's Bottleshop & Bar in Exeter over the weekend, where local snackers raced to eat a unique Pennsylvania chip in five minutes. WVIA
- ➤ Junken Monkeys will host its annual Christmas party in Scranton at 1124 West Market Street on Saturday, December 6 at 11 a.m. Santa will arrive on a fire truck and every child will receive a gift—along with donuts, coffee, face painting, and a magician. WNEP
- ➤ After Tuesday’s storm, Saint Francis clothing store asked the community to donate warm winter clothing and provide volunteers as 75 to 85 people visited each day for help with the cold, plus the store welcomes support on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 11 to 2 and uses a mobile trailer to distribute clothing. - ➤ The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce hosted the final presentation for the TechCelerator program Tuesday at Marywood University (with Ben Franklin Technology Partners and Lackawanna County) as eight new business owners pitched ideas for AI tools and telehealth solutions. President Bob Durkin said the graduates will get up to $10,000 in grants from Lackawanna County to help start their businesses. FOX 56

- ➤ Johnson College received a $450,000 Gable Grant from Lowe’s Foundation to upgrade its HVAC, electrical, carpentry and cabinetmaking labs on its Scranton campus and at a Hazle Township training center—improving training for skilled trades. The grant is part of a five-year initiative to prepare workers for modern job sites. FOX 56

- ➤ Today, the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program opens applications for the 2025-2026 season to help households pay heating bills by sending payments directly to utility companies or fuel providers in the form of cash or crisis grants ranging from $25 to $1,000—applications will be accepted until April 10. - ➤ Three Ukrainian Army veterans met with local groups at St. Vladimir Ukrainian Catholic Church in Scranton to ask that Americans send more weapons to help Ukraine fight Russia's invasion—warning that without this aid, the battle could lead to greater loss and future conflict. They stressed the need to protect their people and secure a better future if additional support is provided. WVIA
