  • Green Ridge Assembly of God's volunteers prepared over 200 takeout meals on Christmas Eve to ensure local residents had dinner. The church's holiday initiative continued a 15-year tradition (which began with Thanksgiving dinners) of community care.  FOX 56

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Seafood demand surged as shoppers filled Schiff's Marketplace in Scranton today with workers reporting low stock on shrimp, haddock (over a thousand pounds sold) and lobster during the holiday rush. The outdoor seafood stand will close today and Friday, reopening Saturday through New Year's Eve.  FOX 56

CULTURE NEWS

  • Over 800 parishioners attended the annual 4 p.m. Christmas Eve mass at St Peter’s Cathedral in Scranton on Dec. 24, where Bishop Bambera emphasized the humble spirit of the holiday (highlighting community and purpose).  FOX 56
