- ➤ Herschend is planning to buy Kennywood, Idlewild and Sandcastle as stated in a company press release—daily park operations will not change during the transition. Kennywood will open on Saturday, April 12—Idlewild on Saturday, May 17 and Sandcastle the following week. FOX 56

- ➤ Discovery Space has welcomed a baby stingray named Pearl from Electric City Aquarium in Scranton and she will reside at the center for about one and a half to two years before returning to a larger home at the aquarium — educator Christy Shields said the display is meant to spark local youth interest in marine science and internships. - ➤ On March 20th, U.S. Rep. Rob Bresnahan offered strong support for a proposed train service that will connect Scranton to New York City for the first time in 55 years. The FRA has authorized PennDOT to develop a plan expected to carry 470,000 passengers a year and add $84 million to the local economy — officials stress that the project remains under review. WVIA
