- ➤ On March 20th, U.S. Rep. Rob Bresnahan offered strong support for a proposed train service that will connect Scranton to New York City for the first time in 55 years. The FRA has authorized PennDOT to develop a plan expected to carry 470,000 passengers a year and add $84 million to the local economy — officials stress that the project remains under review. WVIA
