  • Fans of The Office will run a themed 5K in downtown Scranton this weekend—modeled after the show’s famous 'Fun Run' episode—while funds will go to Valley In Motion to support community wellness.  FOX 56
  • College students at the University of Scranton are building customized cars for children with disabilities as part of the free Go Baby Go program funded by the Edward Leahy endowment—over 60 students have worked with nine local families to design rides with joystick steering and hand accelerators, and the vehicles will be unveiled at the Byron Center on Sunday from noon to 4:00 p.m.  PA Homepage
  • The Weinberg Northeast Regional Food Bank celebrated its 10th anniversary by unveiling a new 15,000-square-foot expansion in Pittston—designed to boost volunteer packing for residents across Lackawanna, Luzerne, Susquehanna and Wyoming counties. Over the past decade it distributed 128 million pounds of food and saw a 23% jump in requests last year.  WVIA

  • Award-winning guitarist Kyle Jenkins and founding member Dr. Charles Truitt revived the Guitar Society of Northeast Pennsylvania with a performance on May 2 at 6 p.m. at the Rosetti Foundation for Arts and Culture in Scranton — the show marked the group’s return to classical and other guitar styles — Marywood musician Diogo Carvalho now leads the society to support local guitar enthusiasts.  WVIA
