- ➤ Governor Shapiro said trooper Perechinsky saved lives when a gunman ambushed two state troopers during a welfare check in Thompson Township and he quickly helped his injured partner while local and New York State Police secured the scene, and the suspect died (both troopers are seriously injured) (the community faces no ongoing threat). - ➤ A Scranton man, Junior Rashean Jackson, was convicted after a two-day trial for trafficking fentanyl and cocaine from a hotel room — he now faces up to 57 years in prison. FOX 56

- ➤ St. Joseph Melkite Catholic Church is hosting its 24th Annual Lebanese-American Food Festival in Scranton this weekend with foods like potato pancakes, pizza frita, stuffed grape leaves, and baklava to support its fundraiser.
