- ➤ On Saturday, dozens of local donors gathered at NEPA Youth Shelter's new teen center on Providence Road in Scranton to support the fundraiser before winter. The center, which opened a month ago—providing a pantry, clothing closet, and recording booth—now serves about 50 to 60 teens every weekday after school. PA Homepage
- ➤ Paramedic Emmett Thomas, from Greater Pittston Regional Ambulance, is fighting cancer after a tumor affecting his lung and encircling his aorta was discovered — the community gathered at Jenkins Township Fire Department for a benefit with live music, food, and raffles to honor his service. - ➤ On Saturday, Saint John's Russian Orthodox Cathedral in Mayfield hosted its 33rd Christmas Bazaar — guests tried homemade desserts, pierogies, halupki, clam chowder, raffle baskets, and holiday shopping — and visitors traveled from nearby areas up to three hours away. WNEP
